What you’ll need:
A Mywellness account to track your progress.

Tips for tracking your progress:

  • For logging into the machines, ensure that you can your band/ fob or MyWellness App QR code is scanned to track your progress.
  • For Group Exercise, swimming or stretches, you’ll need to manually log your activity by going into the ‘add results’ section and finding your exercise / class.

New to Fitness?
Here’s some handy tips to get your fitness on the right foot.

Gym

Entering the gym for the first time can be quite scary or you feel you don’t know where to start… but we’ve all been there at some point!

Luckily our instructors are on hand to help guide you through the machines* to answering any enquires you have about the equipment as well as suggestions of where to start!

You’ll also be able to helpful videos in your MyWellness app, under ‘My Movement’. Just click ‘do it yourself’ to find a variety of equipment and mat based exercises. You’ll be able to find categorised options under: Cardio, Strength or Stretching.

*Joining as a member and not used our Technogym machines before? You’ll be required to go through an induction before using them. So please be aware when joining on your first day!

Swim

According to Swimming.org, the four best swimming strokes are:

  1. Butterfly – best for cardiovascular workouts. Eg. strengthening your heart and lungs whilst toning chest muscles, thighs, upper back, triceps, hamstrings and lower legs.
  2. Freestyle – Helps lengthen your spine and tone your stomach, legs, arms, shoulders and buttocks.
  3. Backstroke – tones your stomach, buttocks and shoulders (Full tone on back muscles).
  4. Breastroke – best for toning and building muscles. Best for body strength, toning and flexibilty.

Each of these can help your fitness through the power of resistance in the water!

Group Exercise

Here at Lifestyles, we have a variety of classes for everyone.

For example:

Aqua Classes: With the help of water resistance, these classes are perfect for those who are wanting to build endurance and burn calories. These classes are also good for those wanting to reduce joint pressure.

High Intensity Classes: increase your fitness, target muscles and get the most out of your workouts!

Low Intensity Classes: These classes are great for beginners or those wanting to reduce stress and work on stretching your muscles.

Dance: Dancing isn’t just for the clubbing, you can enjoy them as part of your exercise route too! Move and groove your way to fitness with a range of dance styles and music.

Group Cycling: A high-intensity class on stationary bikes! Our instructors will put you through your paces, switching between gears and motivating you towards your goals! Great for those wanting increase cardio muscles and stamina as well as keeping low impact on your knees and joints.
