We’re celebrating National Fitness Day on Wednesday 20th September 2023 with a wide range of offers, challenges and classes to inspire you to get active!

Moves Challenge

For one day only, can you get the highest number of MOVEs? 

Track your Moves using our state-of-the-art equipment or during classes!

Be sure to download the Mywellness app to take part in this challenge!

What are MOVEs?

MOVEs are the ultimate units of measurements, assessing and accurately tracking your lifestyle based on the the exercise you do regardless of your gender, age or fitness level.

Here are some examples of how MOVEs are taken:
– Five flights of stairs are considered 50 MOVEs
– A nice walk of half an hour equals to 200 MOVEs;
– But if instead of walking for half an hour you decide to run, well… the 200 MOVEs will become 400 MOVEs, twice as many!

Thai Boxing

Monday 18th September
Location: The Wave
Time: 7:15pm

Thai Boxing or Muay Thai is a striking martial art that uses punches, kicks, knees, and elbows and is the most common form of stand-up striking used in MMA. Thai Boxing is excellent for fitness, weight loss goals, and self-confidence and is one of the best forms of self-defence training around. We welcome members of any ability, experience, or gender, and we promote a friendly welcoming atmosphere.

Are you looking for a low impact way of exercising or just a way to connect with the local community? Then our Walking Club is for you!

Just turn up and enjoy! a 2 mile walk!*

We ask that all participants are able to walk continuously for 30 minutes.

Body Pump

BODYPUMP is THE ORIGINAL BARBELL CLASS, the ideal workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast.

Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.

Exercising muscles around the core that provides the vital ingredient for a stronger body. A stronger core makes you better at all things you do, from everyday life to your favourite sports – it’s the glue that holds everything together.

Zumba/Clubbercise Party! with Sophia, Lisa and Ellie.

Friday 22nd September
Location: Xcel Leisure Centre
Time: 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Zumba: A Latin inspired dance-fitness class. It fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away!

Clubbercise: We darken the room, get the disco lights going and start to work up a sweat whilst dancing to ‘90s floor fillers, from rave to dance anthems. The routines are easy to follow and always have high- or low-impact options.
